Because of the teambuilding week and the holidays that's FOUR weeks! So.... it's a bit more than usual.


A: Words

 

Learn the words up to "limit" (p. 201). 

Also revise the next 30 irregular verbs.

 

remember: From now on, there can always be one or two (or more) words and verbs from previous homework in the vocab-tests...)

 

 


B: Reading ("Putting Makeup on the Fat Boy")

  1. Read the text at pp. 26 -29
  2. Do ex. 1a) and 2 (p. 29)
  3. In one paragraph, explain which character in the story you like best (give reasons).

    C: Grammar Revision

  1. You are now experts on Simple Past and Present Perfect. So one more exercise on that topic shouldn't be a big problem for you. So... do the following exercises:

D: Mediation

 

Do you remember what a mediation is? It's not a translation from one language to the other but only giving the relevant information to someone in another languge. Here's an example: You are at the cinema with your parents who can't speak English (yesyes, I know, they can. But let's IMAGINE they can't...). They want to know how much the tickets are. So they say: "Frag ihn, wie viel die Eintrittskarten kosten." If you TRANSLATED it, it would be; "Ask him, how much the tickets are." But that doesn't make sense in the situation. So, you turn to the guy at the counter and ask: "How much are the tickets?" THAT's mediating. Got it? Yes? Great!
